Students have been busy in Science! We've dissected sheep eyes, had an outdoor education field trip on animal signs led by MTU, performed a blood typing lab, and tested out an experiment about the force Earth experiences while spinning on its axis!
3rd grade ended the week with a field trip focusing on winter birds led by Tom Oliver, Director of Science & Environmental Outreach. We learned why birds stay, why they leave, and what they eat. They enjoyed finding the birds hiding in the trees!
The 4th grade had a great field trip with Tom Oliver of Michigan Tech’s Center for Science & Environmental Outreach! The class learned what material insulates the best and what yellow birch tastes like. 😊 A big thank you goes to Tim Makela for the use of his trails!

The girls' basketball game against Watersmeet tonight has been cancelled. The boys' game will now begin at 5:00 instead.
The boys' district basketball tournament will be held in Ewen on February 26th, 28th, and March 1st. Tickets can be purchased online at gofan.co. or at the door.
Mrs. Nasi's 3rd grade students were taught the importance of hand washing, eating healthy, and washing fruits, even bananas! Nutrition lessons led by Laurie Celeski, Community Nutrition Instructor, MSU extension.
As part of our professional development day today, our staff was trained on AED and fire extinguisher use. Thank you to Mike Yon and Kristian Pikka from the Wakefield Volunteer Fire Department for training our staff.
