Happy Retirement, Mrs. Makela ❤️ the 6th Grade








We would like to congratulate Mrs. Kathy Makela on her retirement . Mrs. Makela has worked in the Wakefield and Wakefield-Marenisco School for 25 years. We wish her a very happy retirement!

The 4th grade class had an awesome field trip to the Porcupine Mountains State Park.










Creative Art students explored layering paint with resin to create miniature three dimensional landscapes while learning about foreground, middle ground and background.

After listening to an author illustrator, Kindergarten students learned about shape drawing and under sketches. Using neon pastels and black lights students illustrated their own images.






SAM from GCC stopped by to hand out tee shirts to Jr. High students that participated in the Gogebic Community College Career Exploration throughout the school year. Big thanks to SAM and GCC for this great opportunity for our students!

The Wakefield-Marenisco Graduation Ceremony will be live streamed on the NFHS Network tonight (May 24, 2024). The ceremony begins at 6:00 PM CST.

Mrs. Nasi's 3rd grade ecosystem project: students were able to choose their ecosystem and they will give a presentation to their classmates with facts about the plants and animals that live there.





Students in grades 7-12 were out walking from Hurley to the school on this beautiful spring day! The weather was perfect and the kids did so well!

Our life skills students constructed and stained a picnic table for our elementary students!



Thank you to all the participants in our first annual pickleball tournament! We hosted 38 teams across four divisions and crowned eight champions. Congratulations to all the players and thank you for your support!
