Our Fitness & Conditioning crew crushed it out on the water today! Despite the chilly temps, these students showed up with incredible energy, positive vibes, and teamwork. So proud of how everyone pushed through, supported each other, and made the most of our time on the water.

We are excited to announce that another anonymous gift has been made to the school! Plans with a prior potential donor interested in replacing the school's tennis courts appears to have fallen through. However, another donor stepped forward to complete the project. The gift was made to cover the complete removal of the old tennis courts and install new tennis courts, fencing, posts, and nets. We are beyond excited for this gift to our school. Donors have given over $1 million dollars towards projects at our school in the past year. We are so grateful for the support to our students, our school, and our community! The project will be completed this summer, and will once again be called the Eugene Maki Tennis Courts!

Our graduation ceremony will be held in the gym on Friday, May 23rd at 6:00 p.m.

In 3rd Grade Art, after learning two mechanical joining techniques, students used cardboard saws to build their own airplane sculptures. We explored the design process and talked about the history of the first airplanes in flight. While we haven’t seen any fully upright flights yet, we’ve had plenty of dramatic barrel rolls! Students are eager to try again—drawing on what they’ve learned from past attempts and from observing the first successful flying devices. It’s been a great week of creativity and problem-solving.

Come out and enjoy a delicious pancake breakfast on June 8th at the Wakefield VFW. All proceeds will help our Wakefield - Marenisco German students experience the trip of a lifetime as they travel to Europe in 2026! Thank you for your support!

The Gogebic Miners Baseball game against Hurley scheduled for Friday 5/16 has been canceled.
They need to make up a Conference game.

Ms. Korpi’s Fitness & Conditioning class is taking fitness beyond the gym walls! We’ve been hitting the trails, parks, and streets around town, soaking up fresh air and appreciating the beauty of our community — one walk and hike at a time.

Thank you for supporting our yearbook!
